Adult Christ Centered Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Class

Here is a link to a video that talks about what DBT is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSCBeI65aSE

Learn mindfulness (like the opposite of mindlessness), interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and more in this highly interactive class! Based in a Christian worldview*, this class is for individuals committed to an emotionally healthy life, equipping members with skills that will improve relationships at work, church, school, or home.

*This means a biblical framework is used as an existential foundation underlying DBT skills. Participants may agree with, be unaware of, or openly disagree with this foundation but are simply informed of this aspect of the class.

Class is based on the founder of DBT’s “DBT Skills Training Handouts and Worksheets” which is provided free of charge to members. Class also integrates material in “The Skills Training Manual for Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy: A Clinician's Guide for Treating Disorders of Overcontrol” by Lynch and handouts are provided when this material is integrated.

Time: Thursdays 9:30-11:00am

Cost: $40/class

How/When to join: fill out the form below. Participants may join at any time and are asked to commit to regular attendance to provide others with a consistent group of classmates. Participants may decide when they believe they are ready to ‘launch’ and may rejoin the class so long as there are open spots available. All of the material can be covered in about 30 classes, but participants may choose to graduate early or stay for a second round and are highly encouraged to attend as they see fit.

Group SUPERVISION

Those acquiring hours for their LAC (licensed addiction counselor) and LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) can attend group supervision to fulfill some or all of their supervision hours. Kaley is currently compiling a waiting list of those interested in being part of a supervision group and will work with those who inquire about finding a mutually agreeable time.
